Lisgar Collegiate Book sale

book salebooks

JUST found out about this  I am so happy to support this school and others in book sales. This is Lisgar Collegiate  first ever and I wish it a huge success.

For more information, or to donate books, please contact LisgarBookSale@gmail.com

this is from the Ottawa Family Living Site:

Looking for a good book? Students at Lisgar Collegiate Institute are hosting the school’s first ever Used Book Sale this month. A vast collection of items—ranging from books of all genres to magazines and records—will be sold and prices begin as low as 50 cents!

The sale is taking place in the cafeteria at the high school, located at 29 Lisgar Street, and it stretches over two days, from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday March 27 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday March 28.

Money raised from the sale will go towards supporting young entrepreneurs in skill-building activities and competitions. As well, it will help pay for training supplies and materials required to help prepare future members of the Lisgar Business Venture Club.

A portion of the money being raised will go towards Lisgar’s arts and literature magazine, Ambrosia, which features up and coming artists and writers from communities across Ottawa.

Lisgar has always been a cornerstone of the community. Located in downtown Ottawa, the school has long been known for its positive influence in the city through events such as Trivia Night and Doors Open Ottawa tours.

Lisgar’s 2015 book sale will once again showcase the school’s “good neighbor” image through a weekend of fun, enriching activities. Not only will there be thousands of books to browse through (hopefully everybody will find an interesting new book to read), but there will additional activities such as a bake sale.

In addition to that, well-received Ottawa author Phyllis Bohonis will be coming in to read from her upcoming book Tomorrow’s Promise.

Members of parliament from both provincial and federal branches of government are expected to make appearances at the book sale as well.

Everybody is welcome to attend. Parking is limited – the closest bus stations are Mackenzie-King Rideau and Campus Station.

See you there .
